Waxy O’Connors is incredibly popular and cherished by its customers. Testament to this is that readers of an independent newspaper have recently voted Waxy’s in as the best pub in the 2021 Readers Choice Awards!
The founders established Waxy O’Connors in 2001 and aptly named it after a Dublin-born candle maker who lived a couple of centuries ago.
He became notorious for his incredible capacity to consume large amounts of beer and whiskey. So much so that a tree was planted in his name!
What Do They Offer?
Each of the Waxy O’Connors branches in Durban offers a friendly, relaxing, and welcoming atmosphere. The owners aim at providing customers with classic Irish hospitality and amiability, guaranteeing consistently excellent service.
They offer delicious food, including an old Irish pub lunch special from Mondays to Thursdays.
Their classic Irish Guinness on tap complements their hearty meals perfectly. However, there is a range of other draughts to enjoy and various alternative refreshments on the menu.
Buzzing with entertainment, customers may enjoy music while popping in for a meal, and even a live band or musician on occasion.
The venue also turns into a haven for sports fans during sports events where customers can watch live sports games on their TV screens.
